The Fairmont Southampton- Southampton, Bermuda

22 May

Here I am, 650 miles east of North Carolina, or about 2 hours flying time from the east coast, in beautiful Bermuda. I am staying at The Fairmont Southampton, one of Bermuda’s luxury resorts. It boasts the largest guest rooms in Bermuda featuring British colonial decor. There are 10 on-site restaurants ranging from casual to “jacket suggested.” The Fairmont Southampton has an 18 hole, par-3 golf course, an ocean front beach club, and plenty of activities for kids! This is true luxury.

The room itself is very spacious. It has a walk in closet, space to work, and space to lounge. I am in a “Fairmont King room”.

So far, I have eaten twice at Jasmine Lounge. The chicken salad sliders were to die for. The spaghetti and apple pie are skippable, but were not a bad choice. For anything Italian I’d probably head over to another on-site restaurant, Bacci.

The Willow Stream Spa has your typical steam room, sauna, locker room, and lounge areas. The jacuzzi and hot tub are accessible through the  indoor pool area. The eucalyptus steam room is great and isn’t noisy when producing steam like some spas I have been to in the past.

That’s a wrap for day 1. Hopefully the weather will improve (although it’s not looking like it will). Cheers!
